What is an ACN and do I need one?

An Australian Company Number (ACN) is a nine-digit number issued by the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC) used to identify a company. Unlike an ABN, it is a unique identifier purely for companies. Under the Corporations Act 2001, every company in Australia must have one.

You can register your ACN with a company package in Honcho.
